摘要
词汇是学习语言最根本的部分。英语中有很大一部分词汇属于同义词，因此对英语学习者来说掌握辨析同义词的技巧，正确选择并且恰当地运用同义词决定着语言输出的质量。本文试图通过BNC语料库，使用SketchEngine（SkE）检索工具，从词频分布、类联接、搭配三个方面比较分析同义词adapt和adjust，以期对二语习得过程中借助语料库语言学的方法辨析同义词用法差异有所启示。
Vocabulary is the very fundamental part of language learning, and since English is a language which has a great number of synonyms, clear differentiation and proper usage of synonyms are critical to the quality of learners＇ language output. On the basis of BNC （British National Corpus）, this paper differentiates English syn -onyms： adapt and adjust by using Sketch Engine. The two synonyms are differentiated with reference to their distributions among different registers, their significant collocates and their collocational behav- iours with regard to certain colligational frameworks. All these researches are expected to give significant implications on differentiating English synonyms.
