The market pressures that foreign dredging contractors are now facing are analyzed, which include more stringent regulations and rules of environment protection, increasing construction cost and difficulties during construction. The paper briefly describes that, with the increased consciousness of environment protection, dredging contractors change their engi- neering conception and adopt new dredging methods.
