中国大学莎剧比赛述评

An Overview of the Chinese Universities Shakespeare Performance Competition

香港中文大学举办的中国大学莎剧比赛已进行9届(2005—2013年),对提升莎剧教学,沟通书斋与舞台,扩大校际交流起了一定的作用。本文从比赛规则、评委与评判标准、参赛剧目选择、参赛学校以及观众反馈等方面对该赛事进行述评,探讨中国大学生莎剧表演风格,研判比赛的得失,目的是总结目前的大学生赛事与学科建设之间的关系。

Kicking off in 2005 at the hosting Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Chinese Universities Shakespeare Performance Competition has entered its 9th year. The competition has played a role in promoting the Bard, bridging o- ver the studio and stage, and extending collegiate exchanges among Chinese universities. This essay tries to offer an o- verall comment and evaluation on the competition rules, adjudicators and their yardstick, choice of plays, participating teams, and audience feedback. It aims at probing the performance styles of non-native English speakers and the impacts of the competition on the English syllabus in China.
