This review summarizes the current development of solar power PV industry and the applica- tions of photovoltaic units in power station and buildings. The applications of silicone adhesive and encapsulant in PV are analyzed. The paper also introduces the technical requirements of the adhesion for frame, terminal box and back material and the potting for the terminal box. The prospects for development of silicone sealant and encapsulant in sun power PV industry are discussed.
