Relationship between Multi-Level Information Technology Capabilities and Organizational Competitive Advantage

基于资源基础理论,将信息技术能力分为资源和能力构建2个层次,通过对166个组织样本的数据分析,探讨了不同层次间信息技术能力的关系以及信息技术能力与组织竞争优势的关系。研究结果表明,资源层对能力构建层的信息技术能力有着显著正向影响,从而积极影响组织的竞争优势。解释了信息技术能力增强组织竞争优势的作用机理,为组织获取竞争优势,同时,研究模型解释了信息技术能力。

Based on the resource-based view theory, we focus on the two levels of information technology capabilities and conduct an empirical research examining the relationship between the dif- ferent level of information technology capabilities and organizational competitive advantage through the data of 166 organization samples. We found that information technology capabilities at resourcepicking level have a significant and positive impact at the capability-building level which positively influence organizational competitive advantage. This finding explains how information technology capability affects organizational competitive advantages, which implies significant implications for building comprehensive information technology capability to obtain competitive advantages.
