Smelting Low Carbon Steel Production Practice with the Ladle of Low Carbon Magnesia-Carbon Brick Lining

This paper presents the experiment of melting low-carbon stainless steel with the VOD ＆ VD smelting process and ladles of low carbon magnesia -carbon brick lining, analyzes and discuses the effect of low carbon magnesia -carbon brick on the smelting process. Ladle refining furnace of low carbon magnesia -carbon brick lining can smelt the stainless steel of C≤ 0.06% by using the VD process and can smelt stainless steel of C ≤ 0.04% by using VOD process.
