The third generation of library ＂Smarter Library＂ is the future direction of libraries facing the IT revolution. The key point is how to achieve the idea of smarter library by IT in the next step. The paper introduces the technology system of smarter library in Shanghai University, and points out the in- strumented, interconnected and intelligent levels needed. At last, it illuminates the practice and {uture de- velopment of smarter library.
