论音义结合之相对有理性——传统语言起源观补正

The Relative Rationality of the Combination of Sound and Meaning——Supplementing and Correcting the Traditional Outlook on the Origin of Language

语言起源于声音模拟。不仅是在西方,在我国远古时期对拟声造词即有了初步认识。古代学者许慎、戴侗,近代学者章太炎、刘师培、黄侃等人对此都有所阐释。音义结合,并非出于偶然。词之得名,是在拟声基础上约定俗成的结果,是相对有理性的。就传统语言起源观加以补正,并参酌西方学说,我们就能从理论上正确解决语言起源问题。

Language originates from sound simulation, and the formation or use of words through onomatopoeia has been primarily agreed upon not only in the West but also in China＇ s ancient times. Ancient Chinese scholars like Xu Shen and Dai Dong, as well as modern ones like Zhang Taiyan, Liu Shipei , Huang Kan and so on have already expounded upon this. It is believd that the combination of sound and meaning does not occur by chance. Words are formed through imitation of the sounds associated with the objects or actions they refer to, namely onomatopoeically, which is a relatively rational convention. By supplementing and correcting the point of view on the origin of lan- guage, as well as by reference to Western theories in this regard, we will be able to find a correct solution to the pending issue regarding the origin of language in theory.
