Helplessness and Rebellion of Women: A Feministic Approach to The Piano Teacher

荣获2004年诺贝尔文学奖的耶利内克是一个备受争议的女作家,她的作品主要以表现女权主义、抨击反犹主义和当今政治为主题。半自传体小说《钢琴教师》是她女权主义的代表作。作者试图通过一名女钢琴师在母女关系、男女关系上的种种不合常规的事件,来表达对男权世界的不满和自己对这个世界无可奈何的愤怒。文章主要从女主人公的母亲和爱情来分析作家表现女性受到男权社会压制的状况,并以此来达到对男权社会的控诉。

Elfriede Jelinek, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature, is a disputed woman writer. The main themes of her works are feminist, anti-Nazism and present politics. The Piano Teacher is one of her representative works on feminism. By means of describing some unconventional matters between mother and daughter, man and woman, the author tries to embody her dissatisfaction towards the patriarchal world and the helpless indignation. This paper mainly discusses the condition of women in the patriarchal society through the analysis of the heroin＇ s mother and lover, and also files a complaint against the patriarchal society.
