Analyzing the pulse manifestation with classification of yin-yang is one of key points in Inner Canon of Huangdi. One saying in Suwen is that silence pertains to yin, action pertains to yang. From past dynasties to now, it has not been explained clearly, and could not be used in clinic. According to the records about pulse diagnosis in Inner Canon of Huangdi and my clinical practice, it is not difficult to find that the up and down of a pulse is called action, the interval between two actions is called silence. The aim is to determine the waxing and waning of yin-yang of the body by comparing the lengths of action and silence.
