Analysis on Common Pragmatic Failures in English and the Cultivation of Pragmatic Competence

语用能力作为语言能力的一部分,是用适当的语言进行得体交际的能力。要提高学生外语交际能力,必须培养学生的语用能力。本文简单地分析了导致语用失误的原因与表现,并就如何提高学生的英语语用能力谈了个人的几点看法和建议。

Pragmatic competence, as a part of language compe- tence, is the competence of using proper language to undertake appropriate communication. To improve students＇ foreign lan- guage communicative competence, their pragmatic competence should be cultivated. This paper briefly analyzes the causes lead- ing to pragmatic failures and the manifestations, and proposes several views and suggestions on how to improve students＇ Eng- lish pragmatic competence.
