On the Issues Conserning Urbanization in Guizhou

城镇化是指一个国家或地区由传统的农业社会向现代城市社会发展的自然历史过程,农村人口向城镇迁移的过程,是这一过程中经济社会结构发展变革并获得巨大发展的空间表现。贵州城镇化面临城镇化水平低、城镇综合承载力低、城镇化体制矛盾突出等问题。通过加强规划的引领,促进城市群发展,实施"五个100工程"等举措,贵州城镇化建设一定能取得长足的进步。

Urbanization is a natural historic process when a country changes from traditional agricultural society to modern urban society. One of the striking features is the population shift from rural to urban areas. The urbanization level is still low in Guizhou, and thus more efforts should be made in this regard.
