On January 7,Sir Run Run Shaw passed quietly away at his home at the age of 107.One of the most influential people in Asia's entertainment industry,the Hong Kong film and television industry that he helped establish has influenced Chinese people the world over for half a century now.Also well known for his philanthropy efforts,he has been honored in America and China,as well as receiving a knighthood from the Queen of England.Like many media moguls probably his only regret is not being able to make a major breakthrough in the Chinese market,but towards the end of his life even this was undergoing change.
