The paper introduces the design plan of upgrading oracle database from version 8. 1.7 based on Windows server 2003 plat- form to version llg based on Unix platform （64bit） of No. 1 military medical project in 161 hospital of PLA, including the pre -test, preparation and implementation steps, thus to provide references for small and intermediate sized hospitals on database upgrading of cross -platform, cross - version and full data migration.
