Objective: To study the relationship between inflammatory factors and disease activity in elderly patients with osteoarthritis inflammation. Methods: Clinical data of OA patients were analyzed, these patients were divided into active group and remission group, and inflammatory factors in both blood and synovial fluid were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results: In the active group, VAS pain scores, blood inflammatory markers CRP, ESR and TNF-α, IL-1β, synovial fluid inflammatory fac- tor TNF-α and MMP3 index were higher than those in remission group (all P 〈0. 05). The VAS pain score was positively correlated with IL-1β level (r= 1. 526, P=0. 011). Conclusion: In senile OA patients, inflammatory factors are positively correlated with disease activity, thus they can reflect severity of the disease.
