林纾的楚辞读本与楚辞批评

Lin Shu's Textbook of Songs of Chu and His Critique of Songs of Chu

林纾的楚辞读本见于《左孟庄骚精华录》,仅选屈原《九章》九首诗。其选《九章》,除了自小就喜诵读之外,还与其对屈原的感情共鸣有关。就林纾的《九章》评点文字来看,林纾的楚辞批评,与其所处的时代有关,反映其易代之际的文化心理,同时也是"借他人之酒杯,浇胸中之垒块"的产物。在具体的批评方面,林纾的评点,对屈赋中的"沓"的特点、意象的特征、章法结构的剖析,都表现出独特的批评眼光。作为一部教材选本,它对后人仍有启发意义。

Lin Shu's textbook of Songs of Chu refers to his'Excerption of Zuo Meng and Zhuang Sao',in which nine poems were selected from Qu Yuan's'Nine Songs'. The reason he chose'Nine Songs'had something to do with his empathy for Qu Yuan besides that he had been fond of reading it since his childhood. As far as Lin Shu's commentaries on 'Nine Songs'are concerned,Lin Shu's critique of Songs of Chu can be related to his times,reflecting his cultural mental state during the alternation of dynasty,and is also the outcome of'drowning his sorrows in wine of other people'. In Lin Shu's criticism,he has a unique perspective in his analysis of features of 'coverage',characteristics of image and art of composition in Songs of Chu. As a teaching material,it still has enlightening significance for later generations.
