In this paper, the functions, features and development methods of materials management system in Iron - making Plant of Baotou Steel are introduced. With the software, the equipment and materials could be under closed - loop control in the whole process of planning and declaring to fidd use,which could make the management clear and transparent. Moreover, the management for the whole process of planning and declaring, summary of exaraination and approval, plan gen-eration, receiving and shipping management of factory warehouse, management of workshop warehouse and field use could be implemented on the net, which could improve the modem management level of materials in the plant.
