Originated from the United States, Athletics and physical education experienced further development and promotion in western countries and attracted the attention of Chinese in recent years. In view of the origin and development, a system of western athletics and physical education has been established and is worth learning and reference. Researches on the origins, characteristics and trend will provide new paths and methods for the implementation of China＇s athletics and physical education.
