商代的师

The “Shi” of the Shang Dynasty

殷墟卜辞中的地名有时与“师”相联，称为“某师”或“师某”。祖庚、祖甲时代的行组卜辞有以下几例。

The place names in the oracle bone inscriptions unearthed from Yinxu Site always followed or were followed by ＂shill＂ , and were called ＂X shi＂ or ＂Shi X＂ . This ＂shi＂ would be referred to ＂city＂ . The characters shi师 and qin寝 could be referred to each other; the palaces which were called ＂qin＂ were built in the cities. The ＂shi＂ in the oracle bone inscriptions was the counterpart of the ＂du都＂ or ＂shidu 师都＂ in the historic literature, all of which referred to the residential areas of the aristocrats.
