摘要
《纪念爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》是美国二十世纪著名作家威廉·福克纳的短篇小说代表作,体现了作者独特的短篇小说创作手法和主题。从酷儿理论来看,爱米丽突破了传统女性形象,男性气质和女性气质的杂糅凸显出她性别身份的不稳定性,此外,她与荷默·伯隆的关系也超越了传统的异性恋关系模式。依据以上两方面,该作品充分体现了酷儿理论消解静态的性别身份和性身份,打破异性恋霸权下男性/女性,异性恋/同性恋的二元对立的意义。
A Rose for Emily is the 20th century American writer William Faulkner＇s masterpiece, representing his unique techniques and themes of his short stories. From the perspective of queer theory, Emily transcends the traditional female image, her blending of both the feminine and the masculine underscores the instability of her gender identity. Furthermore, her relationship with Homer does not con{orm to the heterosexual relationship pattern. In these two respects, this work embodies the queer themes of denaturali- zing stable gender identity and sexuality, and overturning the binary oppositions between the masculine and the feminine, heterosexu- ality and homosexuality under heterosexual hegemony.
