A Study on the Identities of the Researchers Who Studied Chinese Literature in 1949~1966 during 1950s^1960s in the American and British Academia

1950-1960年代美英的中国"十七年文学"解读者,部分来自政治、历史研究领域,部分来自中国古典文学、文化研究领域,少有专业学者。"冷战思维"、"西方中心主义"观念等对其影响深刻,使他们的言说大多意识形态色彩浓厚,并倾向于采用西方艺术标准评价"十七年文学"。但族裔身份差异使西方本土解读者与华裔解读者两部分力量,深层次文化立场并不同,促使本时期美英对中国"十七年文学"的言说呈现出了复杂性特征。

There were few professional researchers who studied Chinese literature in 1949~66 during 1950s^60s in the American and British academia.Some came from political and historical research fields. Others came from traditional Chinese literary and cultural research fields.The thoughts of“Cold War”and“Western Centrism”influenced these researchers greatly,rendering strong ideology color in their interpre-tations.And the researchers tended to use western artistic standards to evaluate Chinese literature in 1949~6 6 .But on the other hand,the interpretations also varied for the differences of the deep-seated cultural standpoint between the native westerners and the ethnic Chinese researchers.Such differences led to the diversity of the interpretations.
