清初诗论家陈祚明在其著作《采菽堂古诗选》中选了谢灵运的大量诗歌,并从各个不同的角度进行评点。陈祚明将"情与辞"作为自己的审美标准,展开对谢诗的批评。陈祚明从谢诗用字方面铺展分析,他在批评其字句雕琢之工的同时,侧重对谢诗中虚字使用的评点,进而分析其炼字产"佳"与"雅"的效果。这在谢灵运诗歌的接受史上开辟了一片新天地。

Chen Zuoming, who was a poetical theorist of the early Qing Dynasty, made comments on a large number of Xie Lingyun＇s poems from various angles in his masterpiece ＂The Selective Ancient Poems Written in the Cai Shu House＂. Chen Zuoming regarded ＂emotions and expression＇as his aesthetic standards to criticize Xie＇s poems. This essay made an analysis which began with the fact that Chen Zuoming paid special attention to Xie＇s choice of words. Chen Zuoming criticized Xie＇s skins of the choice of words, focusing his comments on Xie＇s use of function words. He further analyzed the ＂good＂ and ＂elegant＂ effect of the use of words. All above have opened up a new world to the history of appreciating Xie＇s poems.
