In the process of internetbased E business transaction, the partners need to know the identity of each other. But how can they know each other on the virtual word of Internet,a institution called CA(Certificate Authority) will satisfy the requirement. In this paper the function, structure and security requirement of a CA are introduced. The necessity and the importance of setting up a CA is also discussed.
