Analysis on the Continuing Education Function of Academic Universities under the Background of Lifelong Learning

知识经济的产生与发展,信息化、数字化时代的到来,多元化、个性化的发展趋势使继续教育的必要性和重要性日益显现,研究型大学不可避免地要担负起高层次继续教育的职能。为此,研究型大学需要积极改革人才培养模式,加强综合性及跨学科课程开发,不断丰富、完善继续教育内容,更有效地完善其继续教育职能,从而为终身学习体系发展作出贡献。

The importance of continuing education is more and more apparent because of the emergence and development of knowledge economy, the advent of information and digital era, as well as the tendencies of pluralism and individualization. Academic universities unavoidably have to undertake an essential function on continuing education of higher level. In order to effectively fulfill its continuing educational function and take a significant role in improving lifelong learning system, academic higher education institutions should actively reform its talent cultivation model, strengthen the development of comprehensive and trans-desciplinary courses and increasingly enrich and perfect continuing education contents.
