Immunological Characterization of Diphterin Type Fowl Pox Virus Gibbs Strain

白喉型鸡痘病毒Gibbs株能在鸡胚绒毛尿囊膜上良好增殖 ,接种后 12 0小时 ,绒毛尿囊膜明显水肿 ,且有淡黄色痘斑 ,其毒价达到 10 5.2 5～ 10 5.83EID50 / 0 .2ml。用 10倍稀释的病毒悬液肌肉注射 13日龄雏鸡 ,无任何不良反应。用 10 0倍稀释病毒悬液皮下刺种免疫 14～ 40日龄鸡 ,接种后 3～ 6天 ,接种局部出现痘痂。接种后 14天 ,用 10倍稀释的Gibbs株病毒液二次皮下刺种或用鸡痘野毒株经腿部毛囊涂擦 ,免疫鸡未见任何局部反应或其它异常 ,保护率达 10 0 %。免疫后 16 5天 ,保护率仍达80 %。

Gibbs strain,which is diphterin type fowl pox virus,may replicates well in 10_day_old embryonated chicken eggs via the dropped chorio allantoic membrane (CAM)route.120 hours post inoculation(pi),the swelling and pox reactions was observed in CAM.Moreover,the titer of virus suspersion is 10 5.25 ～10 5.83 EID 50 per 0.2ml.The minimal immune dose by the conventional wing_web route was 10 -5 0.1ml.13_day_old chickens,inoculated by intramuscular injection with 1∶10 virus dilution,no abnormal signs was observed.Vaccinated chickens with 1∶100 dilution,developing lesion at site of inoculation.At 14 day post inoculation,these immuned chickens were challenged with a virulent fowl pox strain HL or Gibbs strain,which protective rate was 100 percent,provided excellent protection.The duration of immunity lasted 5.5 months.
