RFLP (Restriction Fragment Length Polymorphism), RAPD (Random Amplified Polymorphic DNAs) and AFLP (Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism) are introduced and their applications to genetic variation, evolution and classification and hybrid identification in poplar are reviewed in this paper.
