The different opinions on the relevant provisions of the GB 50057-2010 Code for Design Protection of Structures Against Lightning were stated. Suggestions that selection of ball radius should consider the importance of the protected object were proposed. The lightning arrester and lighting shield line was effective methods for solving the open yard lightning protection. It could provide references for similar design.
