摘要
介绍并讨论文献检索系统中的语言控制模式，分析自然语言与受控语言在情报检索中的优越性与局限性，阐述 DIALOG系统和万维网检索引擎如何为实现自然语言检索而构制索引，并对改进自然语言检索的几项重要研究进行归纳。
The authors present and discuss four modes for language control in literature searching systems, and analyze the advantages and disadvantages of natural language and controlled vocabulary searching. An account is given of the index creation for natural language searching in DIALOG system and Web searching engines. Several key researches for improving natural language searching are summarized. The authors believe that information experts ought to fully and efficiently take advantages of the natural language and vocabulary in the retrieval system design. And a combination of natural language and vocabulary searching techniques is strongly recommended to information users.
