摘要
针对詹姆斯·乔伊斯小说《死者》中人物所表现的精神瘫痪,参照荒原文学中的荒原思想,分析了作品中的主要的荒原意象:女性在呻吟,男性在哀叹。研究发现这一荒原意象是精神荒原的真实反映,借以唤醒沉睡中人们去开垦自己的精神荒原。
In view of people’s spiritual paralysis in The Dead by James Joyce, an analysis was made of the main wasteland imagery in the work- women’s moaning and men’s be-moaning based on wasteland thoughts of wasteland literature. Findings show that the waste-land imagery embodies the spiritual emptiness, which is expected to awaken the lost peo-ple to cultivate their spiritual wasteland.
