“Strength of Character”,being an important part of first stated literary theory in LiuXie’s The Gentle Heart Carves Dragons,gives rise to the extensive attention and controversy of the research workers of later generations.There are different explanations and opinions for it.In order to examine the rich and colorful meanings of the discourse of“Strength of Character”.the thesis reviews some important parlances of the predecessors,points some perplexions,then combines the specific times and relate theory of the modem lingnistics that was advanced by“Strength of Character”.
