Wang Bao-yu's Experiences in Treatment of Chronic Cough

慢性咳嗽是临床常见的肺系疾病之一,如不及时治疗会导致迁延难愈。中医治疗慢性咳嗽有一定的优势,如辨证用药准确,则会疗效显著。文章对王宝玉名老中医治疗慢性咳嗽经验进行了总结。王老认为治咳不局限于治肺,久病咳嗽要调理肺脾、肺肾,自拟肺脾同治方、肺肾同治方;咳嗽要根据病情分清痰热程度,并立痰热郁肺、痰热壅肺、痰热瘀肺三型;提出风邪致慢性咳嗽的特点及治疗方法,临床上应用自拟疏风解痉化痰汤治疗,疗效显著;对于喉原性咳嗽提出以茶代饮,用自拟咽喉饮治疗,慢病缓图,取得很好的临床疗效。

Chronic cough is one of the common diseases of lung system in clinic. The delayed treat- ment will result in the prolonged and intractable disease. Traditional Chinese medicine has certain advantages on treatment of chronic cough. The efficacy on it is significant with accurate syndrome differentiation and medication. The paper summarized the experiences of Wang Bao - yu, the distinguished veteran doctor of TCM,in the treatment of chronic cough. Prof. Wang believes that the treatment of cough should not just focus on lung. Instead, regulating the functions of lung and spleen, and the functions of lung and kidney should be considered with the self - prepared formulas, Feipi Tongzhi Fang and Feishen Tongzhi Fang. According to the severity of phlegm and heat, cough is differentiated as three patterns, named obstruction of phlegm heat in the lung, blockage of lung by phlegm heat, and stagnation of phlegm heat in the lung. The paper proposed the character and therapeutic method for chronic cough due to wind. The self - prepared decoction for eliminating wind and spasm and resolving phlegm should be used in clinical practice and its efficacy was significant. For laryngeal cough, the herbal tea was applicable for chronic case with very good clinical effect.
