在"民族因文化而存亡"的观点已成为人们共识的今天,如何保护和传承本民族的非物质文化遗产,亦成为摆在全球各民族面前的重要问题。通过对美国芝加哥爵士乐学院的采访和考察,可以见出这所学校已探索出了一条通过艺术教育来保存和传承音乐文化遗产的路子,其中一些做法值得我们学习借鉴。

Today, when the belief that a nation will rise and fall with its culture is universally embraced, all nations in the world are confronted with the crucial question of how to preserve and transmit their Intangible cultural heritage. Though his visit and field work in Jazz Institute of Chicago, the author thinks that the Institute has found a way to preserve and transmit musical cultural heritage, that is, through art education. Some of its practices are worthy of our emulation.
