On Construction of Scientific Spirit

科学精神的建构是“五四”新文化运动以来中国文化建设的一个根本的方向和任务 ,但是 ,这个任务远没有完成。文化保守主义和后现代主义忽视和反对科学的态度是错误的。作为理性的思维活动 ,科学是普遍的。科学精神的根本基础是社会的经济制度。自然科学、社会科学和人文科学都是人类理性的表现形式 ,它们之间是一种“家庭类似”

Since the May 4 th New Cultural Movement, the establishment of scientific spirit has been an important trend and task of cultural construction in modern China, but even now it has not been achieved yet. This article first criticizes the cultural conservatism and post modernism and emphasizes that science is a general factor in all cultures. Then, it analyzes the relation between science and social institutions, and points out that fundamental basis of scientific spirit lies in economic framework of society. And last, it discusses the inner relations of science and indicates that natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities (or human sciences) are all embodiment of human reason.
