摘要
人际意义表明了言语交际活动中各个交际主体之间的社会关系,2012年美国总统辩论中的情态表达,以语言的主体间性特别是哈贝马斯的交往行动理论为视角,通过定量和定性的研究方法可以发现,2012年美国总统辩论体现的人际意义,奥巴马倾向于采用与听众建立主体间性关系的情态表达方式,塑造更加亲切的个人形象;罗姆尼倾向于采用与听众建立主观性关系的情态表达方式,塑造以自我为中心的个人形象。
Taking modal expressions in American Presidential Debates 2012 as study object, this paper has analyzed their corresponding interpersonal meaning and validity claims in communication by the methods of quantitative approach and qualitative approach from the perspective of intersubjectivity. The author finds out that Obama prefers to using modal expressions that can establish intersubjective relationship with the audience, which helps him construct a more amiable image; Romney prefers to choose modal expressions that can establish subjective relationship with the audience, which constructs an egocentric image in front of the audience.
