High school, which exists between compulsory education and higher education, bears the dual responsibility of improving academic and personality. Educators around the world agree that this stage is recognized as the most difficult period to teach. Through field investigation of local public high school in the United States, three advantages of United States high schools are revealed. Firstly, the US education system offers students a continuous development. Secondly, different classification models of education levels give students opportunity to receive individualized development. Thirdly, the pluralistic eveluation standards of college admissions guide students to a comprehensive development. By stressing the academic and character preparation in four years, the United States gained and sustained this competitive advantage. Its advantages are then gradually expanded in higher education.
