A Review of the Study on Hsia Changshi

夏昌世是岭南地区重要的建筑师和中国传统园林尤其是岭南庭园的历史研究者。文章梳理了研究夏昌世的文献,总结了夏昌世生平经历的回忆、专业成就,以及夏昌世的建筑设计、历史研究、学术思想和教育方式等。目前的研究表明学术界对于夏昌世的研究工作已经全面展开。最后,作者建议有关机构编辑夏昌世年表(年谱)、夏昌世文集、夏昌世建筑作品集和夏昌世研究进展论文集。

Hsia Changshi is an important architect based in Lingnan, and a scholar specialized in the history of Chinese traditional garden and especailly Lingnan traditional garden. This paper reviews all the study about Hsia Changshi, summarizes the studies about his lifetime, achievement, architectural design, garden research, academic thought, educational methods, and so on. These indicate that the study about Hsia Changshi has been extensive. The author suggests that it is time for the＆amp;nbsp;edit of the chronology of Hsia Changshi, collected works of Hsia Changshi, portfolio of architectural design of Hsia Changshi, and collection of research papers about Hsia Changshi.
