2013年9月，世界建筑导报（AW）曾以微博访谈形式，邀请双年展几位前策展人、和关心双年展的朋友就以下问题进行即时讨论和问答。除了张永和先生回忆不起第一届的感想之外，其他几位策展人都有各异的态度。这里择要刊登他们的发言。
The Five AW Questions：Why all the doubling？ Has the Bi-City Biennale, with its Co-Curators and two exhibitions actually brought Shenzhen and Hong Kong closer？ What is the Biennale＇s ideal audience？ Is it limited to members of the architectural world or is their a place for ordinary citizens as audience？ What is the role of the curator？ Should the government be entrusting one personwith so many resources to create an exhibition that may or may not be directly relevant to the city？
