有着数千年历史的古村——指南村,位于杭州临安市太湖源头的南苕溪畔,基本保留着明代的村落格局,200来户人家沿着巨大的方塘和蜿蜒的山势鳞次栉比地散布着,部分粉墙黛瓦的明清建筑保存了下来。村子有著名的古姓、古塘、古树、古祠、古庙、古宅、古墓等"七古",300多株参天古木环抱着悠远宁静的村舍,470余亩蔚为壮观的梯田层叠于村外。深秋时节,远山含黛,浓墨重彩,俨然诗画里的世外桃源。

Qiu Qin visits the ancient village of Zhinan, which is situated just outside Lin＇an City, Hangzhou, on the banks of the historic Southern Tiao Brook. The village itself is famous for its ＂seven ancient heritages＂ - an ancient surname, pool, trees, ancestral hall, temple, homesteads, and cemetery. This ancient heritage is laid out according to principles of Ming Dynasty land use, with the village facing the square pool and the village＇s back protected by a winding mountain range. In fact, examples of Mingand Qing Dynasty umber tiled walls can still be found throughout the village. In the fall, Zhinan provides visitors a stunning glimpse into classical landscape aesthetics. Over 300 ancient trees surround the tiled walls of the village, which in turn give way to the gentle elegance of terraced rice paddies. The mountains, of course, provided the umber for making the brownish-red tiles. Qiu Qin finds ethereal beauty here, where inky clouds and fall foliage embrace an ancient dream.
