摘要
Peritioneal dialysis,with some disadvantages such as incompleteness of dialysis for some patients,malnutritions well as other complications,is one of the common remedies in treatment of chronic kidney failure.Chinese herbs have been proved with certain therapeutic effect in terms of improving peritoneal clearance,preserving remained kidney function,reducing the dosage of dialysis,improving nutritional status and some symptoms as well as dealing with complications of dialysis.However,under certain circumstances,Chinese herbs are not applied as first choice. Decision can be made after the assessment on effectiveness,side-effects and cost of Chinese herbs in comparison with western medicine.The author believed that in order to improve the effectiveness,Chinese herbs may focus on improving peritoneal clearance,improving nutritional status and preserving remained kidney function.
