国家战略视角下的我国外语教育政策调整——大学英语教学:向右还是向左?

CET from the Perspective of National Strategy: Turning Right or Left?

长期以来,我国大学英语教学走的是一条英语专业的路子,按照英语专业的课程设置和教学模式,把英语当成一门专业来教。这几年,大学英语与专业英语同质化现象日趋严重。造成这一情况既有教学理念问题,也和教师学历结构和教育体制有关。但是大学英语不是专业,它只有满足国家战略需求,培养学生用英语从事专业学习和研究的学术能力,才能在高等教育中找到自己的地位。因此我国高校外语教育政策必须调整。

Traditionally, Chinese college English teaching （CET） follows the practice of teaching English as a discipline in terms of the curriculum. The homogeneity between CET and English major teaching （EMT） is increasingly compounded because of the different concepts of CET. However, CET differs from EMT in that it is not an independent discipline hut a service course which must equip students with language skills needed in their academic studies. Therefore it is essential that the present policy of foreign languages education be adjusted if the need of the national strategy is to be well fulfilled.
