On the Duties and Qualities of College Journal Editors

高校学报是高等院校进行学术研究成果报道的学术类期刊,是开展校内外、国内外学术交流的重要园地,编辑人员既有中介性、编选性职责,又有创作性、方向性职责,职责要求编辑人员既要具备较高的政治素质和良好的道德修养,又要有扎实的编辑业务基础、较深厚的学术素质和使用信息技术的能力。明确了职责,具备了相应素质,才能进一步提高办刊质量,更好地服务学校发展大局。

College Journal is an academic journal that reports the academic research findings of high- er institutions and also a significant forum for campuses and international academic exchanges. Editors have not only the intermediary and editing duties but also that of creation and orientation, which, there- fore, require a higher political quality, better moral cultivation, strong editing ability, profound academ- ic background and the ability to apply information technologies. Thus, only with the clear understanding of duties and relevant qualities can college journal editors improve the journal to a higher level, making greater contributions to the college＇s development.
