摘要
本文探讨了叶芝的苦难诗学。叶芝认为,被动的苦难不该作为诗的主题。在悲剧面前,他选择一种冷峻的诗歌姿态。他鄙视感伤主义的泪水,认为诗的艺术想象须以永恒的形式从历史的语境中抽离出来,超越主观感情的界域而融入"原初的寒冰"。在他的诗中,苦痛和危机所激发的不是廉价的泪水,而是艺术形式的琢磨、意象的自由舞蹈,以及创作激情的高度凝炼。叶芝因此能从悲剧经历中得到一种欢欣。
This paper explores the poetics of suffering in the works of W.B.Yeats.While excluding passive suffering as a proper theme for poetry,Yeats assumes a 'cold'poetic stance in his representation of tragedies in life.Instead of shedding sentimental tears,he believes that artistic imagination should be carried into 'the aboriginal ice',in the coldness of which poetry can transcend subjectivity and time.Yeats is therefore able to derive a kind of 'tragic joy'from the tragedies he witnesses and envisions.
