摘要
大学排名自诞生之日起就存在重科研轻教学、重自然科学轻人文社科等诸多局限。为克服传统排名的不足,欧盟委员会资助创建了欧洲多维排名体系。通过总结学界对它的评价并对其具体指标设置和质量进行分析后发现,由于受到现实条件的限制和"满足所有人需求"理念的影响,欧洲多维排名很难突破现有排名的局限,且面临着向欧洲以外国家推广和应用的挑战。
University ranking has its own limitations and problems ever since it first ap- peared, such as favoring research over teaching, favoring nature sciences over humanity and social sciences. European Commission's initiative of U-Multirank tries to overcome these limitations. This paper reviews the scholars' comments about U-Multirank, analyzes the quality of its indicator system, and finds that U-Multirank can hardly overcome the limitations of existing university rankings, and faces the challenge to be applied in countries outside Europe.
