摘要
教师是外语课堂教学中促进学习发生、有效提高学习效率的重要因素。教师在课堂中的任务及其所扮演的角色直接影响学生语言习得能力的培养。本文基于一项中国外语教育传统研究的部分发现,分析了外语教师在课堂教学中的多重任务,探讨了教师在语言示范、能力培养、学习评价、师生关系的建立与维护、学习氛围的营造等方面所发挥的重要作用,说明在外语学习环境中,外语教师是促进学生语言能力形成和发展的不可或缺的"重要他者"。
Teachers play a critical role in promoting learning and enhancing teaching eff iciency in the classroom. What they do in class often exerts a direct impact on the acquisition and development of the language competence of the students. Based on partial fi ndings from a research project on China's foreign language tradition, this paper analyzes the multiple responsibilities held by a foreign language teacher in the classroom and examines the different roles they play in providing language input and modeling, learning assessment, cultivating language competence, building rapport with the students and creating positive learning environment, which shows that, teachers as the "significant others" to learners in EFL learning context, are indispensable to the formation and development of Chinese learners' foreign language competence.
