中国学生英语能力与汉译英能力关系的实证研究 被引量:14

An Empirical Research on the Relationship Between English Proficiency and C-E Translation Competence of Chinese Students

摘要 了解翻译能力与语言能力的关系对于我们认识翻译本质、提高翻译水平、改进翻译教学等具有重要意义。本文报告了旨在考察中国学生英语能力与汉译英能力关系的一项实验研究结果,通过语言测试、翻译测试、统计分析、译文质量评估等手段,研究发现英语语言能力与汉译英能力既有一定的相关性,又存在差异,不同语言水平学习者的翻译能力发展程度不同,并且翻译能力不同成分的发展程度亦有所差异。 Researches on the relationship between transla- tion proficiency and linguistic proficiency will contribute to our knowledge about the nature of translation, improve the translation quality and guide translation training. This paper presents an experimental research on the relation- ship between Chinese students' English proficiency and Chinese-English translation proficiency in particular. A language proficiency test and a translation test were de- signed and administered. Through statistical analyses and translation quality assessment it is revealed that while subjects' English proficiency is related to their C-E profi- ciency in a certain way, the divergence is also obvious in that different groups of subjects with different levels of English proficiency demonstrated varying degrees of C-E proficiency. Moreover, differences are also observed be- tween different sub-components of translation proficien- cy.
