This paper discusses the aesthetician and literary critic Belinsky＇s main contribution to Russian literature. We could find that his contribution is not in promoting lecturing, but rather in framing and propagating arts and the standards and norms of arts. Russian classic literature has obtained substantive contents from Belinsky.
