摘要
叶圣陶先生反对学校以文字教育为圭臬的错误做法,强调学校教育本身便应是一种融通生活的教育,是以生活为本位的教育,而不是"预备生活"。以生活为旨归的教育理念,强调的是一种放飞生命活力的教育,它意味着文字教育不是学校教育的主旨,学校应该进行的是能对生活产生真实受用的教育,书本不是知识与经验的唯一来源,读教科书更不应成为教育的最终目的。
Mr. Ye Shengtao was against the idea that school education took literacy as its ultimate goal, while he emphasized that school education should be integrated with life, and life- oriented, not just ready for life. The idea of life-oriented education accentuates that education should activate life vitality, indicating that literacy education is not the main purpose of education; school should provide "students with life education, and books are not the sole source of knowledge and experience, and consequently reading books should not ever be the ultimate goal of education.
