“文”、“学”、“史”共同演绎的一本书——解读杨仁敬教授的《美国文学简史》

本文是笔者在阅读杨仁敬教授新著《美国文学简史》后对文学史和美国文学的再认识。笔者在细读中发现《美国文学简史》注重描述"文"、"学"、"史"的内容并构建三者间的关系。"文"是指"美国文学","学"是杨教授的治学成果以及笔者从中获得的学术心得,"史"是"美国社会历史"、"美国文学史"和"美国文学史批评史"三方面内容。本文认为,撰写"文学史"应该涵盖上述三方面的内容,这样文学史著述才更有学术价值。

This paper aims to re-recognize literary history and American literature on the basis of reading Professor Yang Renjing＇s new monograph A Brief History of American Literature. The writer of the paper finds that the monograph attaches importance to depicting the contents of literature, academic ideas and history, and their interrelations as well. Literature refers to American literature; academic ideas stand for those of Professor Yang and those of the writer of the paper obtained from reading the monograph; history here is the combination of American society and history, American literature and critique of American literary history. The paper argues that the above three aspects must be covered in writing a literary history so that it will be more academically valuable.
