The Cultural Imagination in Online Time-travel Novels: an analysis based on Startling by Each Step

自鸦片战争以降,整个中国近代史可以说是中华民族屈辱的历史,近代文学因而充满着深重的苦难与悲情,20世纪中国文学延续了近代文学的悲情与感伤。进入新世纪以来,作为网络文学重要类型的穿越小说的出现,重构了人们的历史想象,消除了国族悲情与感伤,为阐释当下的社会现实提供了新的可能性。

The entire history of modern China starting from the Opium War is a history of humiliation of the Chinese nation. Consequently, modern Chinese literature is embedded with sorrows and sadness. This sentiment involved in modern Chinese literature was extended into the Chinese Literature of the 20s century. In the beginning of the 21 st century, the advent of online time-travel novels as an important type of network literature reconstructed the historical imagination of Chinese people and removed the national sentiment. In this way, the novels offers alternative possibilities to interpret the current social reality.
