Comparisons Between Transformational-Generative Grammar and Case Grammar

乔姆斯基的转换生成语法(TG)和菲尔默的格语法(CG)是当代语言学界有重大影响的语言学流派。本文试图从语言的性质,语言学家的任务,研究方法和在语言教学中的应用这四个方面对这两大流派进行对比研究,加深人们对两大理论的理解。

Chomsky＇s Transformational-generative grammar （UG） and Fillmore＇s Case grammar （CG） have played a significant role in the study of language. This paper makes a detailed comparison between Chomsky＇s UG and Fillmore＇s CG in terms of the nature of language, the tasks of linguists, research methods and the role of UG and CG in English teaching, enhancing the understanding of the above two important linguistic theories.
